Just a thought on the light flicker problem. Since the circuit for the light
depends on the ground connection through the frame, and since the GPW/MB's et
all have the swing up headlight bracket; it is POSSIBLE that you are not
getting a good ground connection from the light bracket. My earliest GPW
(#14914) has a small wire (apparently original) about 14 gauge that appears to
be dedicated to this very problem. It insures the electrical ground
connection between the front grill and the light bracket.
Not sure if this is the problem, but it's a real easy check. Put a short
piece of wire with a couple of clamps on it between the bracket and the
grill/frame/battery, and see if your flickering stops.
