[MV] New Question; M38A1 Hard Starting Problem

Thanks to everyone who responded to my first cry for help. It appears that
the float was stuck. I am now getting plenty of gas to the cylinders, but
now fear I don't have enough fire to ignite. The engine really wants to
catch, but just won't do it. I am now going to replace coil, points,
condensor, rotor and distributor cap; plugs and wires are new.

New question - checked compression last night, cold engine, obviously. Got
readings around 70 PSI on two, three and four; number one was around 60. The
manual says what I should get on a warm engine, and states that could engine
would be less, but doesn't say how much less. Are these numbers too low?

Just to make certain, is number one cyclinder in front, or near firewall? I
am assuming it is in front, but manual doesn't say (or I can't find it).

I'm sure you'll hear from me again.
