[MV] Air Dropping WWII jeeps

On page 93 of the book "The Jeep" by Jean-Gabriel Jeudy & Marc Tararine there
is a photo of "The parachute harness used for dropping a Jeep, shown at an
exibition of US Army equipment on the Champs de Mars under the Eiffel Tower in
1945." The photo shows a jeep on a rather elaborate platform, lashed down
with a camoflage parachute draped over the back. A sign beside the jeep
states 557 Quartermaster Aerial Supply Company.

I also have seen a photo somewhere of a jeep partially covered by an
aerodynamic cover that was suspended under a large British bomber. I think
the King was looking at the rig.

I don't know for a fact that the WWII jeeps were air dropped; however these
two photos would indicate the idea was at least tested.

Sorry, I don't have scanning capability, to post a copy of the photo. Perhaps
someone else on the net has the same book and can copy the photo.
