Sounds like you have the wrong thermostat housing, or someone changed the
radiator inlet fitting.

These are tough to come by. You might try Memphis, Sam Weiner or Marty Fravel.

You can use M35/M211 canvas by raising the sides by 4" and puting the canvas on
backard (it will say FRONT on the rear). I have done this for years and it
works quite well and M-series tarps are much easier to come by...
