Thanks for all who responded to my aid. The truck is running now. I bought
the truck in 1993 not in running condition. Seeing it work represents 5
years worth of restoration and frustration. To sum it up the problem was
that my starter was running too slow, not building enough compression. It
was not a rebuilt starter so I removed the starter cleaned the brushes and
contacts and it worked like a charm. Plus for some reason I had two spark
plug wires crossed. I dried off the plugs in a toaster oven and tried again
with good success. A compound problem of starter, flooding, and crossed
wires made it seem like a solution was far away. Now I have to figure out
why my generator is not charging, even after polarizing it. Thanks again to
all who helped.
