I'm mid-way through the restoration of a January '43 MB and I have a
question regarding seat & hood canvas. My jeep is believed to be ex
Australian Army, but is being restored to U.S. Army configuration of the
European theatre.
My question is the colour of the canvas. I have been told that all US jeeps
of the period had olive drab seat & hood canvas but I'm having trouble
confirming this. I have seen many photo's of restored jeeps with what
appears to be Khaki canvas instead of green and I was wondering if this, or
either, is correct. I personally like the Khaki over the olive drab but I'm
more interested in originality.
Can anyone clarify this for me?
