>From Dodge Master Parts list;

Cargo and Recon bodies by Budd
Dump bodies and associated kit by Gar Wood
Cab and Telephone Inst. Bodies by Highway Trailer Co
Carry-All Bodies by Proctor-Keefe
Ambulance bodies by Wayne Works.

First four numbers are year (2 digits, 40, 41, 42, etc) and body code.
Body code prefixes as follows (from Army Motors no 47)

10 = flat face cab
12 = closed cab
19 = command recon
29 = radio recon
39 = ambulance
49 = carryall
62 = closed cab (again ?)
66 = express body transverse seats
76 = express body, no seats
90 = flat face cowl with bucket seats

So a 4149-XXXX body tag on my WC 36 Carryall shell would be 1941, 49
(for Carryall) and XXXX as the sequential body number. Tags are under
hood on open cabs, and on passengers door pillars on closed cabs.
