[MV] Tanks in Tunesia?

I will spend the first week of October in Tunesia and I am interested to
hear if there are any WW-2 AFVs to be found in Tunesia. I know the rumours
about large numbers of derelict tanks in the desert are just that, but would
the scrapmen have taken away everything? I can imagine some are on display
in museums, at memorials, etc. Who can tell me more? Other WW-2 relics are
of interest, too.

Although it is meant to be a relaxing holiday and not my prime objective to
go tank hunting, I could not stand it if I would find out that there were
interesting things to be seen "only a few miles away" after I get back! If
anything, I will read Charles Messenger's book 'The Tunisian Campaign' to
get an idea of the "couleur locale" in those days.

Best regards,

Hanno Spoelstra
