[MV] Politically speaking, and show information, and truck update

With all this wonderful talk of politics,
Does the MVPA contribute to any lobbying organizations? Since MV's are
finally getting their just due in "regular" circles of collecting,
shouldn't we try to get some of our particular issues added to the general
concern of the membership of some of the large car groups? Again, not
wanting to be on the "fringe," but just wanting to stop some of the
stupidity, like demilling hummers, putting the M35's on the munitions list,
etc.
And for those who don't want to brave the crowds of Carlisle, the last of
the big meets of the Antique Motorcycle Collector's Association is being
held this weekend in Jefferson, PA. Email for directions- it is about 25
minutes from York, PA.
Finally, does anybody remember that big yellow Autocar aircraft crash
truck at the Don Siver/ Coatesville auction this year? I want to report
that it is running and operating, although without rear brakes and use of
the choke. We are still looking for a Zenith 457-2 Carbeuretor choke plate
shaft to make it start better- tying a BDU hat to a rope and yanking it out
of the carb when it coughs is getting old....
