The M211/M135 and M34/35 my have a problem with this because of the sprag
(overrunning) clutch in the xfer. I am not sure, but that may cause the front
drive to engage.

On the CCKW/DUKW/Chev or M34/35 with air shift you don't have this potential
problem.

Changing hubs takes about 10 minutes with a 3/4" wrench. Mine are 'neutered'
for the summer and enabled for the winter.
