David, I was a little short on the the answer to your question , lets
try again. The numbers on the plate reflect the weight of the vehicle plus
the weight of the cargo. So your M-35 weighs roughly 6 tons empty, and that
would be the number on the plate. If you had 5 tons of cargo , the plate
would show 11 on it. As for the letters; the only one I know of is "C", and
I understand this stands for convoy. A single truck shows no letter on the
plate. Just turn the letter plate over to the backside. If anyone in the
group feels that I am wrong, please fell free to correct me.
