Darryl,

Here's the official spec. re bridging plates and the M151-series.........

Department of the Army Technical Bulletin TB43-0209 (29 October 1976) Section
IV, para. 13 (h) says "A vehicle weight classification sign kit, as described
herein, will be installed on the front of each vehicle except :-
(1) All Trailers:
(2) Vehicles having a gross weight of 3 Tons or less:
(3) Vehicles having standard classification numbers higher than 99:
(4) Vehicles having rated payloads of 1/4 to 1& 1/2 tons."

So the M151-series is NOT included by virtue of (2) and (4) above.

The letter "C" (which would be coloured gloss-red (11136) for appropriate non-
cammo/pre-cammo vehicles) stands for "Classification".

For cammo-painted vehicles, similar regulations apply [TB43-0209 31 October
1990) Section IV, para.13(h)]. The colours used are black letters, green
background. (No specific colour shades are mentioned, but it is presumed that
the kit used (NSN9905-00-565-6267) would be in forest green lustreless, with
lustreless black letters.

Hope this helps.....

Ken
