Alan-

I did see a few M151s in the Gulf War, but unfortunately, they were all National Guard units and had been converted to the "politically correct" safety version by the installation of a complete roll cage and full side netting. Talk about ruining the looks of a great little vehicle! Most of them had been painted a unifom tan (which quickly took on a "pinkish" tint after being in the sun for a while), although a couple were still in the six (?) colour camo scheme used in the USA
and Europe.

There may have been some units operated by REAL Army units (a little "dig" for you ARNG guys), but I didn't see any. Same goes for vehicles without the "safety" transformation. They may have been there, but I didn't see any in my AO (3rd Armored Div.).

Good luck.

I am now in the process of restoring a 1971 mutt and thought this would be a little different than the usual Viet Nam models I've seen. What color camo were they painted? >From pictures of some of the vehicles and armor I've seen they look like solid sand color. Any help would be appreciated.................Thanks Alan
