Hello List !

Just looking for some hints before I start tearing the beast apart. My
latest problem is: about 1 month ago it started to need just a little
bit more choke to get going, before that choke out, started, push all the
way back in ran like a champ. This went on for about two weeks then it
started needed a bit of "gooseing" with the gas to get going and stay
going. Once running, runs "rough". Got worse over next several weeks to
the point it needs major "gooseing" on gas and even then it does not like
it. I hope this is a simple adjustment as I just replaced
intake/exhaust manifolds along with waterpump and radiator.

This is somewhat like the "life in the slow lane" of several weeks ago
but not quite.(Mine did NOT like hills even before this problem.)

I have not changed plugs or tried to tune it up.(yet). Last tune up was
done ?X miles/months ago when the govt owned it.
Carb was de gunked during manifold tear down.

Questions:

1. Can this go "out of tune" over the course of a few weeks. (of not
much driving either).

2. Could these signs/symptoms be indicative of "gunked up" system ? (Been
using standard gas w/lead substitute).I have not dropped the gas tank but
have thought of doing a sealer project over the winter.

3. No smoke black or other wise, exhaust still clean. Carb problem ?

4. Fuel pump problem?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Regards,

Daryl
