Start out by getting some books and manuals. A repro parts book is real
handy. Do your homework and you'll have a much easier time of it. I even
used a Beechwood Catalog as a reference book. Other parts catalogs
helped, too. I restored a 1945 MB and had to figure out the differences
between it and earlier ones and that's where catalogs helped. Judging
by the prices of parts now, I'm certainly glad I restored mine back in
1992-93. And you're not the only one to get rid of stuff only to find out
later that you need it...
