I heard about a dump here in Scotland where the army apparently
dumped vehicles etc. into one of the sea lochs. The diver I spoke to claimed
to have dived on the site for scrap brass and had seen what he described as
"jeeps, halftracks and stuff".
If you raise the remains of a vehicle from the sea, how do you stop the
corrosion as it dries off?
I would think that as soon as it's out of the water and the oxygen gets to
it, the rust would just eat whatever's left in no time at all.
Perhaps this summer I will get the time to go and see what's there.
Can you swim, Mick? #:o)
