The salvage at the Wrecks Museum were covered in what looked like varnish,
but was labeled as special rust inhibitor/sealant - the end result was that
the MVs had the "wet look" as if just pulled from the sea bed.
Not sure what the treatment prior to the "varnishing" was, but it made for
some great displays.

My point being that even though something's been in seawater for 50 years,
it's not necessarily lost, so to speak.
