Mark,
You take your chances if DRMOs down your way have the same rules
that we have up here. No starting, no driving of any vehicles. Sure, a
rebuild plate will show somebody worked on the motor, but that's not a
guarantee that it'll be A-okay. In recent times one truck I purchased
needed to have transmission work performed. Had to have it rebuilt.
Another beautiful appearing M35A2 w/w and a very low hours (like new)
LDT4651D late "clean burn" had a ruined crankshaft and was locked-
up. Had to junk the engine. I have so much in that truck now that I
went ahead and made it my own personal truck. Locked rears, jury
rigged brakes, shot clutches are all part of the game, that's one
reason resellers have to charge the prices we do.
