[MV] cooling fluid for old engines

Hello list,
Someone told me I could use modern cooling fluid for my Ford V8 flat =
head
instead of water plus antifreeze.
I wonder if there is a risk to damage old type seals or make some =
corrosion.
All experiences and ideas are welcome.
