You bought an M151. This is one of it's many 'features'
They have for sale 'quiet' (oxymoron alert) M151 rear ends. I installed one in
the rear of mine. Quiet in an M151 is a relative term 8-)
It is quiter than the one I took out. The problem is that the diff is noisy.
Then they bolted it directly to the floor (can you say 2' by 2' speaker).
BTW: Mine is quiet s a mouse on coast and noisy under load.
