Isn't the body on the mil version Aluminum and the civy steel?

I remember reading an article in one of those freebe trade magazines
(defense industry related) that the bodies where glued onto the frame with a
cryogenic adhesive. Was this just something they were experimenting with or
is that how they do it, mil and/or civy?
