Found a jeep for sale in a guys' basement. Stored 10 years. Uglier than
shit. I mean you gotta see the paint job.....
May be a '42 MB, I don't know enough, or what it's worth.
Here's the scoop.
LH firewall gusset number - 116175
pretty solid body, some rusted hat channels but solid wood
minor holes in floor but pans good.
missing MANY small parts
no windshield.
no rear seat
hinged headlights,
tube under grill (MB?)
missing glovebox door
no provision for wheelwell toolboxes (???)
rear panel intact
can't tell bolt pattern for gas can or spare tire
6v engine unlocked -
"Willys" head
16" non combat rims
removable axleshafts
That's most of what I noticed . I probably could clean carb, bleed brakes,
air up tires, and drive it home. Guy wants 1750 firm. Doesn't sound like
the deal of the century to me, as an old Dodge guy. What do the MB guys say?
And by the way, what's the difference between an MB and a G 503 ? Is that
WWII / post WWII nomenclature? Mike
