Jason,

Where I work we have two CUCV's. We have experienced problems
with each of them that are very different with respect to each one
individually.

One of them was used in Desert Storm, much of the parts were
absolutely caked with sand like you would not believe. This CUCV had
38,000 miles on it and we have replaced the exhaust, transmission, brake
booster unit and front end.

The other was plain green and have had to replace the front
driveshaft, brake booster unit and both exhausts. Also the desert storm
one had damage to the frame by what looked like someone picking it up
with a forklift.

We have never had any problems with glowplugs, for once they have
started, it just runs and runs and runs. They go anywhere and seem to
be pretty rugged. The rust problems we have are the rockers right under
the doors.
