I was at a dealer in the U.K. 2 years ago. He told me that armor went
overseas both ways and that all the records were lost or destroyed some time
back. Previous administrations have taken the position that if it cannot be
proved through the records to BE lend-lease....then it is not. The Clinton
group has changed the position to be the oppisite. If you cannot prove that
it is NOT lend-lease then it IS. And cannot be re-imported.

The dealer was actually holding a restored tank that the U.S. Air Force had
purchased but was having trouble getting the import papers for.

No I did not make this up.........just passing on what I was told.
