I think you just answered your own question. For some starters the armature
for 6 and 12 are same, but as far as I know when you go to 24 it's a
different animal. If anyone know for sure please feel to correct this, but
I believe that 24V starters are not pure series motors, I think there is a
small shunt funtion built in.
