I work at NEAPCO (New England Auto Products Company). NEAPCO has been in business since 1926. We make driveline components for cars, trucks and tractors.
Today, the maintenence department was cleaning out an old storage room and in the pile, I found a 1940's vintage broach that is the correct spline for the front and rear differential side gears and the front hubs on a MB. It is marked Lapointe SAE 1 1/8". I was able to obtain it and it fits my front hubs perfectly. It is a production internal spline broach and may still be functional. I have no use for it, but I could not stand to see it thrown away.
If someone, who is making parts for old jeeps has a use for it, please let me know.
