The setup you are talking about is on pages 68 and 69 of my SNL N-19
"TOOL-SETS, MOTOR TRANSPORT" as "Tool-Set, Unit Equipment, Second
Echelon Set No. 7" and was issued one for every 50 vehicles for second
echelon maintenance also required with third and fourth ech for
transporting engines, axels etc. It included a superstructure, 1 1/2Ton
chain hoist trolley and a tow bar ($175.86 1943 prices). This was
published Oct of 43 so might be a little old for your M35A2C. The pix
in the book doesn't show the bolt holes but I suspect that the frame
mounts as far aft as possible inorder to maximize the use of the hoist
and the forward base plate lyes over a cross member just short of the
