Re: [MV] Question on NDT tires

While I am not an expert on cracking tires. I have noticed my farm
equipment and trailers I keep inside have less cracking and deterioration on
their tires than the ones left outside. If a Mil Veh is to be stored out
side in the weather, I would recommend parking it with the tires on some 2
x 12 boards to keep them from direct contact with the moist ground.

Also something like White plastic trash bags taped to the side walls to
block the sunlight ( UV rays) from drying out your tires. I've noticed
some of our RV friends do this with their RV's when they are not in use.

And as already has been noted, If left for long periods of time, blocking
the axles to get the weight off the tires. (I use cross ties about 2 feet
long for blocks and and stack them 2 or 3 high and they work great)

Regards to All

Cliff
