I'm 28 and have a CCKW older than both my parents! The MV hobby IS
changing, most of my peers want M35's, M880's, M151's. A few of us still
love the vintage iron of W.W.II, but we have to restore ours. Newer stuff
can be bought from a DRMO and the next month be at a show. With what I've
spent on my CCKW I could have bought a M35 in great shape, but I want to
preserve a part of history. Yes, the newer stuff needs preservation too,
but I remember watching my dad and grandfather cut up two US6 6x6's and a
CCKW at the ranch in '81 (grandpa did give me the data plates ). At the
time, W.W.II trucks could be found still working in the fields, then they
were gone! Out here we're in a race with the scrappers to save what we can.
