Hello List,

I'm restoring an M3A1 Scout Car made by White Motors, serial# 256012.
The motor, xfer case, transmission, front and rear differentials all have a
small aluminum tag affixed (about the size of a dog tag) that have the
following info stamped on them.

Rebuilt 12-FEB-1954
T.O.D.

The data plate has an extra "99" stamped in front of the Ordnance Serial # in
a rather crude fashion unlike the aluminum tags on the drivetrain components.

I'm assuming this vehicle was rebuilt at Toole Ordnance Depot during 1954,
possibly for the National Guard or the MAP program since all Scout Cars were
supposedly long gone from Army inventory by then. I purchased this vehicle
from a man in Tallahassee, FL who found it in a junkyard in New Mexico.

Does anyone have any info. or thoughts on this one?
Regards,
