In the case of my M38 is was due to a civilian who bought it
cheap and then didn't know where to get 24v. parts so the
easiest thing to do was to convert it to 12v. I have rescued
mine and am converting it back. I think it will be worth it
in the future. I think the military went to 24v. for more
radio power. Between San Jose and this weekend, I have
rounded up all the parts I need to convert. It set me back
about $700.00.
This hobby is so cool I am selling my Mustang !
