I am looking for a good, preferably rebuilt, R6602 engine as a spare for a
1956 Int'l M-62 wrecker. Anyone have any leads?

Also, re: MVPA elections and directions, talking to each other on this list
is great but more effective is calling the directors and President Lee
Holland and letting them know what you wat from the organization.

At the sparsly attended membership meeting in San Jose (note, if you aren't
actively involved in MVPA you shouldn't gripe when they don't meet your
expectations), Lee spent a lot of time talking about the problem of
importing MV's into the US and what the MVPA is doing to fix the problem.
This was a major topic for discussion. I was impressed by the amount of
attention that it is getting. The MVPA has attorneys and lobbyists dealing
with the appropriate agencies and politicians to try to get the moratorium
on import permits lifted.

Their only request of the members is that we not get crazy and try to
strong arm the State Department and BATF ourselves and come across as a
bunch of whackos. It is to our benefit to be aligned with groups like the
classic car collectors who have really deep pockets, cover a broader
spectrum of the population and can fight this kind of battle more effectively.

Keep 'em rolling,

Rick
