[MV] GPW serial numbers

Hello list. I recently purchased a GPW that I do not know the year of (the
data plates are gone.) I assume it is late war since the steering wheel is
OD, it has the trailer plug, and it has the original rear exit exhaust. Can
everyone give me a year or even better the date of delivery? The serial
number is 266996. Although the body is rough in the back this Jeep is
complete (everything even the combat rims), runs and drives excellent, and
has all matching numbers. I paid $150 for it was it worth it? :)
