[MV] Hummers

AMG has done refurbishment in the past on Hummers. The Gov't figures the
life expectancy of vehicles to be 8 years. Some of the more expensive ones
get "extended service" treatment which is a refurbishment of the vehicle.
Most military posts have a stockpile of brand new Hummers not yet issued as
we speak. Since we are not in a war with anyone, (yet!) and the world is
fairly stable at this point, we have a huge surplus of old Hummers that may
be deadlined for defects. Remember, they have been in existance since late
'83. 16 years is a very long time to be in use, sitting outdoors mostly.
Eventually, they will have to be purged to get them off the books. I saw
this statement in todays' posting:

"I probably can get a
hold of a dealer tax # from my home state so that I can see just what
these sell for."

Buying as a dealer is not merely borrowing a tax number, you have a dealers'
ID card with your name on it which also shows that you are "bonded" and
carry the liability insurance and have the property to do this business.
For those of you who are interested in the "Great Hummer Sale", here is the
website. http://www.govservices.com/ Julian
