Jim, like I said before in a rather long post (I'll keep this
one short), it's time now to regroup, and move forward with the
creation of a new group.

a/- From what I have read so far and looking at the answer you
have received from K.Tucker, I can tell you now that this will
not go any further towards a solution to vindicate you. The MVPA
HQ folks are all wrapped up in their by-laws and legally, they
DO have a leg to stand on.
b/- This situation has now become so acrimonious and there are
so many people now involved or "au courant" that it is now
unmanageable.

Now is the time to count your supporters and create your own
Collectors Group.

another two centimes worth....

Antoine

you learned over the weekend about the MVPA situation?"

letter from the MVPA on 7/21/99 via registered mail.

fax on 7/5/99.

their failure to present my nomination to the Board of
Directors")

> It has come to my attention that you have distributed
information critical of the MVPA and the recent nomination of
Directors. We are disappointed that you continue to criticize
the procedures under which the MVPA operates.
>
> With respect to the recent nominations, the facts are as
follows:
>
> The nominating committee was appointed by the President as set
forth in the Bylaws. This was done at the winter board meeting.
>
> The nominating committee reviewed resumes of all the
applicants, including yours.
>
> A representative of the nominating committee interviewed each
applicant by telephone, including you.
>
> The nominating committee unanimously rejected your
application.
>
> The board of directors reviewed the slate of candidates
submitted by the nominating committee and approved it by a vote
of 10 for and 2 against.

as we head into the next century and will work for the good of
the organization.

give me an answer to my question and explain the committee's
actions. Kenton's reply was;

not to talk to you" !!!
>
> Well, not being one to take no for an answer, I tried to get
him to just give me some information on this matter. Kenton
held firm and repeated that he really could not comment. Kenton
is a friend of mine and I could tell that this was as upsetting
for him as well as me. Later that day Director Garrick Smith
and I talked at length about this situation. Garrick was also
unable to get any information from Kenton. To his credit,
Garrick made himself available to discuss this matter with all
concerned members there. I feel that if the committee won't
give a Board member a reason and they won't give me a reason,
who will they give one to? Is there anyone that their actions
are accountable to?

me a specific answer to my question;
> "I ask the Nominating Committee to show just cause for
their failure to present my nomination to the Board of
Directors." If they really had a legitimate cause, you would
think this would be a easy question to answer. How long will
this stonewalling go on?
>
> I'll post more on this and on the section of the Bylaws
(7.7 c.) that govern the actions of the Nominating Committee in
the next few days. (Hint; the bylaws were not "followed at
every step of the process")
