In response to my previous post, I got the following three replies.

-------Now I would
like to see a discussion on some of the other issues. I can't see
giving $20,000 for what has been described, i.e. bare M998's with no
doors no top no seat cover etc., with rusted frames and off road use
only. Add this to not knowing the condition of any of the vital parts,
i.e. motor, trans, fuel system, brakes etc. and no test drive. I'm
thinking $5000 to $10000. What do the rest of you think? Are there
really 300 of you that plan to go and pay $20000? And what about this
frame problem with 1985's.----

------They are still worth $25,000...as is....where is........What is
missing is
around cheap...finished...the vehicle is worth $40,000..1SG PANTANO

------Approx. 80 have sold in the last 30 days from 17,500 to 21,500
from memory.
The price may go down when they dump 600 though.

------and on the other hand i think they will sell for about 15-20,000
as for the
parts as to repair other countries
hummvee's that we have given them~~

The third person said he wouldn't give more the $10000 himself.

I know of a frame that brought 10000 at Keesler, but that was 600 units
ago.
Even if they are bought for overseas parts, the dealer must allow for
the
overhead of shipment, storage, labor to dismantle etc. and a profit
margin. Also, if 300 people start looking for parts, the price will go
up. $25,000 is almost half of acquisition price. How much used surplus
brings 1/2 of acquisition cost?

On the other hand, if 300 people show up with $25,000 to spend they will
bring
$25,000.
