[MV] Shipping parts

Guys,

What is the most economical way to ship heavy parts across the country?
ie 800 lbs, etc.

Everyone says just truck it. I had a recent bad experience shipping a
crate to Wyoming. The trucking company quoted me a rate but when it got
there they billed the receipient for a lot more than they quoted. The
qoute was for about $320 and they charged almost $600. Unfortunately I
found out about this after the fact and the bill was already paid. Any
tips on how to avoid this kind of thing.

FYI, after I went through with this I found out that you can ship a 800
lb crate via Amtrak for about $229 from Toledo to Denver. Price is
right, but most Amtrak terminals can't handle over 100 lbs boxes and
Amtrak doesn't go everywhere.

Thanks,

Dave
