I just picked up a bicycle wrench at a flea market (alongside an Indian
Motocycle wrench). For those who don't know, a bicycle wrench is a
diminuitive version of a 10 inch automotive wrench like is found in a WWII
vehicle tool kit, about 5 inches long. It is marked P&L MFG, Newark NJ, in
a stamped diamond. On the reverse of the head, it is also stamped US, in
the stylized letters like is usually seen on Pre-WWI items, or Civil War era
items. It is nickel plated, like other ones I have found, but I have never
found one marked with the US? Are there any listers out there who have seen
tool kits on WWI Motorcycles, or Bicycle tool kits from this era? I am
reasonably certain this is from prior to WWI, but would appreciate any other
opinions. I will be posting a photo on our Military Indian site, if anybody
is interested. I will send the list a link when it is up.
