I learned acid etching in high school art class. We used clear "contact
paper". It was actually clear self stick plastic sheeting. We would stick the
sheeting down thoroughly, trace our design with an Exacto (razor) knife, &
remove what needed to be etched. brush the acid on & let it set for about 10
minutes. It washed of with water & was done! One tip: the design needs to be
cut out perfectly, as any screwup can't just be sanded off later.
