The MREs will still provide energy way beyond their stated expiration
date just like canned foods. Previous posters correctly point out that the
label is there for a guide, cool and dry will extend their acceptable life.
As with all prepared foods, the sugars will start to crystalize, fats will
congleal, nutrient and appeal value will continue to fade away with time.
