Just my simple thoughts, but why not put your company name or date of
mfg. on the bottom or somewhere that won't show when mounted. You could
stamp or engrave it deep enough that obvious attempts to grind it out or
bondo over it would be apparent. Could you do this and retain 100% in all
other aspects?

I don't blame you for your concerns, there are plenty of "scam artist"
selling German WWII repro items now as original. Personally, I just want it
to look right when it's mounted. I wouldn't care what was marked underneath
it.
