In ref to the '51 M-37 1000 before yours (4/3/51),
Yes, mine does have the electrical connection beside the glovebox on the
dash. I always assumed it was for a light of some sort? When I got it all
the regulator and 24 volt stuff was changed to 12 volt, so I can't help you
there. It did have the Aux. seat in the bed on the Right side that folds
down, I recently rebuilt that. It has a NATO type 1 wire slave adapter on the
drivers side, in front of door, just above the running board. Above that
there is a "factory" embossed area that looks like a giant Keyhole that was
never cut out. I've never seen this before and don't know what it was for.
It is about 4" long and 1 1/2 wide at the top. Also if you're familar with
the opening on the Right side of the front cowl for the raised air intake,
you know what the plate and wing nuts look like. I have an identical plate
with 2 wingnuts under the passenger seat directly in the center to the left
of the batteries. What in the world?
No handle on the Hood, I think that was a M37B1 addition. Gear shift lever is
shorter than a '53 model I used to own. Also, no manual handle on windshild
wiper motor for passenger. Mine was in service until 1960/61.
Other than that it's an M-37, slow, noisy, and loves petrol.
