[MV] Pulling...

As in pulling one vehicle with another when one is mired.

You can get in more trouble that way than any other you can imagine!!

First,............. well,... first thing is the driver screwed up by
getting stuck! But that happens.

Pullling the vehicle out with something much bigger than the stuck
vehicle works best and is safest.

Two vehicles of the same size compounds the problems.

Hook the tow and stuck vehicles together with a cable MUCH heavier than
the weight required, it keeps a bad day from becoming worse. Try not to
use chain, chain links fly far away when the chain breaks.

Move the tow vehicle away SLOWLY until the cable becomes tight, THEN
use maximum reasonable power. Don't "floor" either vehicle, it doesn't
help, the wheels don't grab anything.

NO ARGUMENTS HERE! That's the only way to do it. The problems get
serious otherwise.

If that doesn't work, reassess the situation, get something bigger!
Take a break, this gets to be hard work!

My experience?

TD-9 loader, M-135, swamp

D-4, small tractor, swamp

Unk. Case Dozer, many men, swamp

UGH!, six-wheeled crane, M-135, greasy mud, failed!

Tractor, mud

Tractor, mud

Tractor, mud, etc., etc., etc.
