Ok, as far as i know, all chevy transfer cases before 1988, you had to stop
the vechicle to shift. My 1986 K5 blazer and my 1998 K2500 3/4 ton puckup
need to be stopped and have the trasmission in neutral, as does the one on
my dad's 91 s-10 blazer, and my partner's 1993 k1500 truck. The pushbutton
systems, and the post 1996 transfer cases are shift on the fly.
