Hi Dennis,
It does not sound good to me. I tow in the mountains of Northern CA,
livestock trailers, horse trailers, and flatbed utility trailers and car
haulers. I use a F-350 dually. I suspect that your combined weight will be >
6700 lbs. I fear that you will ruin your Expedition especially if it has a
automatic transmission and risk serious peril . When towing you should
consider the following:
1)there is no substitution for tow vehicle size (> wheel base = better
stability/steering))
2)cooling ability for engine and transmission (tow package equipped)
3)brakes (larger vehicles have larger brakes)
4)terrain ( you will be pulling both flat and mountains)
I would rethink this one and consider towing with something as big or
bigger than a 3/4 ton long bed equipped for towing. Scott
