I bought a Phillipino repro tank and have had to take it out three times to
resolder seems that let go. I am not happy at all. Not just that the
soldered seems kept failing but also that the solder and application method
were cheapest possible I'm sure. I had alot of trouble getting the old
solder, oxidation, and other crap out of the seams before I could get my new
solder to flow and stick nicely.

Isn't someone advertising plastic tanks? I would rather go this route than
the above.

Have you looked into gas-tank-renu? They advertise in AM and/or MV. A
freind of mine took a tank in to them that I thought was scrap, but they
cleaned and sealed it and guarantee it? Not cheap but it's an option.

Also, have you looked in Hemmings for any firms that specialise in major
repairs of fuel tanks?

Later,
