HI,
That vehicle really does have only 215 miles on it, in my opinion. I first
tried to start it in june and was embarrased when the fuel I was pouring in
came pouring out of the tank(the plug was missing). It was a beauty ! it
still had the top bows, mirrors, fording kit and radio rack etc.
The vehicle info folder makes no mention of a rebuild, as do many others.
The perfect paint says "CARC", not "CARC 94.
The "HUM" sticker is still on the passenger side cyl. head.Almost the only
one I saw, and I looked at a lot.
There is NO wear on the controls, the latches, or the footwells.
There are no indicators of a repaint.
It came from the same headquarters and support batt. that the other low mile
units came from, with almost consecutive serial numbers, i.e. 238 m 306, m
848 m etc. on the odometers.
the speedo has the red and orange trailer safety sticker that is not on
replacement odometers.
it just looks like new.....
We found a big wad of aluminum foil in the breather elbow in july and
thought we had the problem licked. still no go though. the engine has more
rpm's from attempted starts than from going down the road. I do not get a
click when I I/O the 54a plug with the switch in run. Julian IS correct in
his warning about the starting cycle. I feel that the number of people trying
to start the vehicle (probably improperly) warrant a new set of glow plugs, a
new glow plug controller, a new protective control box, and a pump solenoid,
and if this stuff fixes it, it will only need a starter to be perfect....
sincerely
