[MV] Mil-veh at classic car show

Once again we're breaking new ground at a rather prestigious car show. Our
Ferret Mk 2/3 will soon be surrounded by Ferrari's, Lamborgini's, Jags,
Mercedes and more.
It's our 5th event this summer and as one of those former classics owners, I
am having a lot more fun showing the Ferret. (Not winning much, but having
more fun with the crowd)

Our light armour was welcomed into the fold of some very exotic cars on
display at the best show in Northern California set for next Sunday, the
Concours d' Elegance!

I'll bet the former government operators of this fine FV never would have
guessed it to be in an elegant car show. . . . especially with a gorgeous
young lady acting as a spokesperson!

Netting and some militaria sets the theme. The netting forms a partial
overhand on the rear, not the best side of a Ferret anyway. A hidden
cassette player will be playing weapon sound effects, bag pipe music, etc.
Ok, I admit, it's more of a spectacle in a way. I know that shocks and
offends some and I apologize for departing from the purity of a vehicle
standing alone in its glory, but damn this WAR! We here to win over hearts
and minds and whatever it takes is fair, even resorting to sex appeal! lol

A pre-exhibit private party is tonight and oddly enough they asked me to
bring the Ferret, an unusual request. However, I sensed a genuine enthusiasm
with the invitation, presumably since this vehicle is such a wild departure
from the norm. The timing of Y2K no doubt ads to the hype too. I'm
frequently asked if that is why I have it... preparing for some Mad Max
scenario looming omnipresent in our future. However, I gloss over the Y2K
comments and preach rolling history and responsible ownership instead.

I strongly encourage everyone with a decent mil-veh to think about doing
something similar if you have the chance. It's a lot of fun and people
really need to see us. I know I've said this before, but its worth saying
again because I still don't see many of you coming out. You must keep in
mind that participating in such events will go a long way to our acceptance
and our popularity. Positive acceptance will be one of the main factors
determining our future as both owners and as a mil-veh club.

Keep em rollin...

Jack Lee
