I did a brief acticle called "Bugs in the Wehrmacht" that appeared in
Army Motors a while back (it seems that they'll print anything!). Can't
remember exactly when...seems to me it would've been sometime in the
summer/fall of 1997.
There were archive photographs provided by the Volkswagenwerk archives in
Wolfsburg. (very helpful folks)
Included was a photo of a military beetle.

OK, I'll admit it. I'm also a VW nut.
The MB is now blocked in the garage by a type 2 double cab project. (It
won't be OD). In fact, the MB and GPW are outnumbered 2 to 1 in the garage
with GAS.
