I have seen them too and have no idea if they were GI issue. I would assume
they probably were in later years about the time Vinyl tops became standard
issue on the "more modern" vehicles. Either way do you realy think an M37
looks good in vinyl? The no frills, clean, stately look of an early 50s MV
is hard to beat with new clean crisp CANVAS. Who was it that once said "I
love the smell of canvas in the morning!"....or maybe it was napalm...or was
it gunpowder...It was a long time ago, now that I'm sure of!
